Excellent opportunity for a Graduate/Junior Structural Engineer to join O’ Reilly Concrete, one of the leading manufacturers of Precast Frame Buildings in Ireland and the UK as well as a full range of Prestressed and Precast Walls, Floors and Stairs. The practice offers excellent career opportunities in a supportive environment with committed senior staff providing training and experience.

This role offers a fantastic work life balance and an opportunity to work on engineering challenging projects.  You will work as a fundamental part of a team under the guidance of the senior design engineers in the company. As part of the design team you will work on projects from scheme design through to completion. As part of your role you will engage teams of architects and engineers focused on the 3D modeling (geometrical and detailing) of complex structures. The successful Structural Engineer will gain experience in

  • the design of reinforced precast & prestressed concrete elements
  • the design of steelwork elements and connections
  • steel and precast concrete frame design
  • scheme design of various projects, converting to precast concrete option
  • Tekla modelling and design software
  • Tedds structural design software
  • iThesis prestressed floors design software
  • reviewing drawings and details prior to submission
  • site visits, design team meetings, report writing & presentation skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree / Masters in Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • 0-2 years’ structural design experience
  • Core interest in reinforced concrete and precast industry with emphasis on detailing and engineering
  • Good communication skills essential for team-based working
  • Good time management habits, ability to multi-task, ability to sustain focus on long tasks
  • Good sketching skills and an ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way
  • Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
  • Applicants must have fluent English and be eligible to work in Ireland
