Job Description
O’Reilly Concrete manufactures a range of precast concrete products such Precast Walls, Floors and Stairs, Columns and Beams. The company also manufactures a range of paving products, environmental tanks such as wastewater treatment, rainwater harvesting and oil/water separators. The company originally started out as a provider of readymix concrete, crushed stone and blocks and still retains this core business to this day.

THE ROLE (FUSION Project) – 18 Month Contract

Design and development of innovative modular style precast concrete structures for the construction of domestic dwellings. At present, the company manufactures a range of concrete wall panels geared towards the commercial sector with schools, office blocks and residential apartment blocks typically making up its target market. O’Reilly Concrete has now identified the growing housing construction market where demand outstrips supply and the need for a rapid build structurally superior construction method. We would like to develop a precast wall for the residential market, creating an innovative new product, which offers developers, building contractors, architects and local authorities a viable, cost effective, structural solution.

Reporting to the Company Supervisor, you will be employed by O’Reilly Concrete to lead this InterTradeIreland FUSION project in partnership with Southern Regional College. As part of this role you will be required to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, from the William J. Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen’s University, Belfast. This is fully funded by InterTradeIreland. The skills learned through the Diploma will enhance your personal, professional and managerial capabilities and will provide you with the necessary and valuable business skills to help you undertake your project role. The company will fully support you throughout this by factoring in the required time off to attend modules and workshops. Job Objectives

To carry out the tasks outlined in the project workplan and liaise with your Company and Academic Supervisors on an ongoing basis.
To convene and service monthly technical meetings with the core project team (Graduate, Company Supervisor and Academic Supervisor)
To report formally on a quarterly basis on progress with the workplan to a Project Management Group (PMG), this includes the assigned FUSION Consultant representing InterTradeIreland.
To train staff so that the new technology is fully transferred and embedded in the company
To work closely with the academic partner and travel to the academic institute as required.
To undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, attending course modules and workshops.
Any other duties which might fall within the general ambit of the post.

Skills Required
Essential Criteria
Candidates must possess
1. Min 2:2 Degree in Construction or Engineering or related degree.
2. Be legally permitted to work in the EU.

Desirable Criteria
1. Design or Product Development Experience.
2. Interest in architecture and design and/or experience in architecture planning.
3. The Ability of taking the lead on a project and making it happen.

Salary: €30,000 p.a.
